Champions is the new release from UK artist Fakekou (Sterlin Callender). We hadn’t heard from him for a while, and this is what he had to say when we caught up with him:
What's the inspiration behind the song?
I wrote this song for everyone who has, or hasn't, achieved goals in their life yet. Because, at the end of the day, we all are champions; even though the concept is about the Olympics, it's much bigger than one event or thing.
We haven't heard from you in a long time, what have you been up to?
I know. I haven't been on the scene for some time, but I never stop writing and producing, or learning, my art form. I just wanted to take some time out and re-invent myself, and be different.
Are there any more releases to come from Fakekou?
I have some other songs for T&T 2013 Carnival and Notting Hill that will have the place hot! I hope people like them. I’m also working with a big artist and producers, but my lips are sealed.
Will you be entering the 2012 UK Soca Monarch competition?
No, I won't be entering, but I will be in shows around and outside the UK. I am currently working on my new website and a T-shirt, along with a video of my song, which should be up shortly.
Where can our readers find out more about you?
You can follow me on my journeys with twitter @fakekou or find me on YouTube, link 'fakekou'. Blessings.
