The island country Antigua and Barbuda that is located in the east of the Caribbean Sea, holds every year since 1957 a colourful traditional carnival. The festival is a ten-day-long carnival filled with different genres of Caribbean music, pageants, colourful costumes to celebrate freedom from slavery.

In spite of the fact that the carnival is held on hot season it attracts thousands of celebrators, locals and tourists.
