Konata Alleyne
Country: United Kingdom
Bio

Konata, born in Trinidad in 1984, had musical aspirations from a very young age, singing for his primary school choir. However, it wasn’t until he entered secondary school that he really begun nurturing his creative talents. There he joined the Scout Band and the National Youth orchestra, in the latter becoming the principal trumpeter. In 1999, Konata joined the soca band Caution, becoming the musical arranger shortly afterwards. Soon the urge to take centre stage could not be ignored. His first attempt at song writing and producing resulted in a fast paced tune entitled Show Me; this was followed by two more soca tracks, one of which was Taking Over, although they were not officially released.

By 2004, Konata, feeling the need to expand his knowledge and experience, moved to London, where he pursued a degree in Arts Management and Audio Engineering. Whilst in London, he co-founded his own event promotion committee, Bazoodee Entertainment, and later teamed up with Next Level PoisonUK, the biggest Caribbean events management company in Europe.

Konata, still a musician and entertainer at heart, longed to get back on stage, and used connections developed whilst promoting to get him there as often as possible; he honed his stagecraft by regularly MCing, hosting and DJing at parties and concerts under the stage name K-Marvel. It wasn't long before he became a household name on the circuit, which set the scene for the next step in his development as a true all-rounder in the industry.

Singer, songwriter, producer, engineer, entertainer, musician and promoter – the saying goes, ‘Jack of all trades, master of none’, but Konata has found a way to make it work, to gel them together into one seamless operation, each supporting the other. This is what makes him unique.

In 2010, the stage was finally set, everything was in place; Konata was ready to re-launch his singing career. He did this with the release of his hot summer track Pressure On Me. The infectious party tune describes that raw power and emotion that is displayed at Carnival time all over the world.

With the release of more music planned for the immediate future, Konata hopes to create something genuine and unique that will set him apart from other artists and producers, and really help him connect with his listeners on a level never experienced before. “I want people to feel what I feel when I listen to music. I want them to get that feeling, that tingling, that vibe that you cannot explain but understand and just makes you want to explode. If I can translate that feeling to you, then I think my music can reach to any height.”
