Laura Bee is a self-taught Saint Lucian artist who lives and works in London, England. Her bold and colourful artwork pays homage to her homeland Saint Lucia and her love of Afrocentric culture. Her distinctive style reflects her vibrant spirit and character and aims to evoke joyful emotions.
In November 2020, Laura Bee published her first book. Caribbean A-Z is a 52-page activity book for children aged 3 years and over. It aims to help them learn the alphabet by associating letters with indigenous Caribbean images that they can easily relate to.
When asked what her inspiration was she responded “I was inspired to create Caribbean A-Z Activity Book because it was a reflection of my love of all things Caribbean. It was also important to create education material that children of Caribbean heritage can relate to. In addition, they can practice fundamental writing skills critical to their development and later writing success.”
Laura discovered her love of, and talent for, art at a tender age and has had her art displayed and sold at some of Saint Lucia’s premier hotels, including Windjammer Landings and Cap Maison Resort & Spa and has been painting for approximately 12 years.
Laura Bee has been recognised by the STAR newspaper as an up-and-coming entrepreneur and artist.
