The Courtesy Garage Pic-O-De-Crop Competition is Barbados’ premier calypso contest and one of the most anticipated events on the Crop Over calendar. Since the festival’s revival in 1974, it has provided the island’s calypsonians with the ultimate platform on which to showcase their talent and compete for the coveted Calypso Monarch title.
Before reaching the finals, performers must first compete in calypso tents across Barbados, a long-standing tradition that has helped develop and promote the artform for decades. The top performers then advance to the Pic-O-De-Crop Finals.
Reigning monarch Mr Blood returns this year to defend his crown against 17 challengers. The competition has grown into one of Barbados’ most popular music events, supported for many years by title sponsor Courtesy Garage, with winners receiving substantial prizes, including cash and a new vehicle.
The 2026 Courtesy Garage Pic-O-De-Crop Finals, powered by Q100.7 FM, take place on Friday 31 July at 8pm at the National Botanical Gardens, following a venue change announced by the National Cultural Foundation.
