Acclaimed producer, director, performance artist, carnivalist and friend of Soca News Greta Mendez has been recognised in Her Majesty The Queen’s New Year’s Honours list. Mendez has been awarded an MBE (Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) for services to dance.
We contacted Greta to find out her thoughts were on receiving an MBE, and she replied “Caribbean People have enriched the cultural landscape of the UK, it is vital that this is acknowledged at the highest level. I am joyous that my creative contribution has been honoured.”
