Magical Mas will return to Notting Hill Carnival this year in partnership with the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB), building on the collaboration’s debut appearance at the event in 2025. The band is expected to take to the road on Monday 31 August as part of celebrations marking the carnival’s 60th anniversary, with organisers anticipating around two million attendees over the Bank Holiday weekend.
This year’s Magical Mas presentation will is themed The Rainbow Within, among those set to play mas with the band are TV presenter and DJ Tyler West and actress and presenter Molly Rainford. They join the growing list of personalities associated with the partnership, following Love Island star Indiyah Polack’s participation last year.
The collaboration is the second between Magical Mas and JTB, which is using the event to showcase Carnival in Jamaica to UK audiences. Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett described Notting Hill Carnival as “one of the greatest expressions of Caribbean culture outside of Jamaica”, adding that it provides an opportunity to connect members of the Jamaican diaspora and introduce new visitors to the island.
Carnival in Jamaica has grown into one of the Caribbean’s major carnival destinations, attracting thousands of visitors annually to a season of fetes, road marches and cultural events. Torrence Lewis, Acting Regional Director for the UK, Ireland and Nordics at JTB, said participation by travel agents in Carnival in Jamaica this year is expected to help drive interest in the 2027 staging.
For Magical Mas, the partnership offers another opportunity to bring a taste of Jamaica’s carnival culture to the streets of west London. “Last year was electric, and this year we are taking everything to a whole new level. Magical Mas 2.0 is bigger, bolder, and more vibrant than ever. Our band is about community, culture and pure vibes, and when you add Jamaica’s incredible spirit into the mix, the result is something truly special,” said founder Arnaldo Pierre.
