Grenadian soca artist V’ghn (Jevaughn John) is among the performers featured in Spotify’s new Carnival Sounds Live series, launched as part of the streaming platform’s celebrations marking 60 years of Notting Hill Carnival.
The series highlights leading Caribbean artists performing songs associated with Carnival culture. V’ghn contributes performances of Kes’ Hello and his own hit Jab Decisions. According to Spotify, the artist has seen a 390% increase in streams since 2023.
His appearance in the campaign comes ahead of Unplugged, taking place on Tuesday 25 August at 229 London. V’ghn will co-headline the event with Vincentian soca star Skinny Fabulous.
Additional performances will come from Ezra, Hollywood HP and Dash, while Giselle The Wassi One will handle hosting duties.
Organisers describe the show as an intimate Caribbean music showcase during the height of the Notting Hill Carnival celebrations.
Spotify’s Carnival Sounds Live series also features Jamaican artists Original Koffee and Shenseea. The campaign forms part of Spotify’s wider Carnival Sounds hub, which includes playlists and other Caribbean-focused content.
