The results of Antigua’s Flow Party Monarch Quarter Final are in. On 26 and 27 June, at the Barrymore Hotel, 65 ‘groovy’ and 69 ‘jumpy’ contestants vied to be amongst the 15 performers in each category who will continue to the semi final, which is scheduled for Wednesday 18 July at 7pm at Antigua Recreation Ground.

The crowd favourites were Claudette Peters, Drastic, Zamoni and Ezzy Ratigan.
The Groovy and Jumpy Monarch competitions have combined to become the biggest event of Antigua Carnival, the Flow Party Monarch Competition. Only seven performers in each category will go through to the final contest, ‘Bacchanal Sunday’. Last year saw Tian Winter topping the Groovy (with runners up Claudette Peters and Menace) and Ricardo Drue (runners up Menace and Tian Winter) winning the Jumpy.
Antigua Carnival 2018 runs from 27 July to 7 August with the theme ‘Revel in Greatness’; the 2018 Party Monarch final will be held at Carnival City on Sunday 5 August at 8pm, leading revellers straight through to J’Ouvert morning.
