Saint Lucia National Panorama Competiton 2022

Changes made to the Saint Lucia Carnival events calendar

|

Released Date

On Tuesday 2 July, the Carnival Planning Management Committee (CPMC) officially announced that several of the Saint Lucia Carnival competition dates would be changed.

It was necessary to make these changes due to the impact of Hurricane Beryl, which resulted in a shutdown of the island that took effect from Sunday 30 June, to Tuesday 2 July, when the all-clear was given.

The CPMC stated that ‘the decision to adjust the dates had been made in consultation with key stakeholders and was necessary to ensure the preservation of the venues and the safety of our patrons.’

Earlier in the day, the CPMC also announced the cancellation of D’Vibes. The Dennery Segment show would have been the first of its kind and was scheduled for today, Wednesday 3 July. The CPMC, however, promised that despite the cancellation of the inaugural event, people will still have the opportunity to enjoy their favourite Dennery Segment artist throughout the season.
