|

Released Date

The Atlantic Rally for Cruisers (ARC) celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2025, four decades of ocean crossings. About 150 boats, crewed by both professionals and amateurs, will set sail from Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, on Sunday 23 November for a 2,700-nautical-mile voyage to Rodney Bay, Saint Lucia. Sailors from more than 30 countries will take part, with vessels ranging from 27 to 100 feet.

Pre-Departure Festivities

ARC offices open in Las Palmas on Monday 10 November, signalling the start of shoreside activities. From 14 to 17 November, the city will host social events including a flag parade, costume party, and safety demonstrations, helping crews prepare for the crossing and build connections.

A special contingent from the UK, representing Saint Lucia, will travel to Las Palmas this Friday 14 November to take part in the celebrations.

The latest date for boats to arrive in Las Palmas is Saturday 15 November, followed by the skippers’ briefing on Saturday 22 November.

The Crossing and Arrival

The voyage across the Atlantic can take up to three weeks. Once in Saint Lucia, the celebrations continue, culminating in the grand prizegiving at Rodney Bay Marina on Saturday 20 December. The ARC finish line officially closes the day before, on Friday 19 December. In honour of the anniversary, discounts are being offered for boats under 40 feet and to those who joined the first rally in 1986.
