Jimmy October dropped his latest project, EPISODE 3, on Friday 10 October. This Extended Play builds on the success of his 2024 release From October With Love and is an addendum to his “New Calypso”, a genre he developed. The genre encompasses a mix of soca, calypso, reggae, afrobeats, R&B, and hip-hop.
The project was produced by Brooklyn Decent, with contributions from Pops (Jelani Shaw), Malary, and Cxdet. The EP features songs like You, Bam Bam, Time and others.
L’shun Emmanuel is the government name of Jimmy October; his journey began as a spoken-word poet and rapper before rebranding under his now-recognised stage name. His work was featured in The FADER magazine in 2018 and Complex magazine, which named him one of the “10 Artists to Watch from Trinidad & Tobago” in 2019.
