Triniboi Joocie will be headlining the ‘Joocie Thursday’ concert as a Notting Hill Carnival (NHC) ambassador at the renowned Subterania in Ladbroke Grove.
The artist, who is known for songs such as Mosh Pit, Sauce, Quarantine, Bottle Over Head and Mr Counsellor, has over the years amassed a good following for himself globally.
Joocie will perform with a live band, and will also introduce performances from other artists and DJs including Wetty Beats, Rae, Just Vibez, Serocee and DJ Candy Pop.
We caught up with Triniboi Joocie and asked him about his motivation to hold the event. He responded, “The reason why I decided to put on Joocie Thursday is because I believe that, being one of the artists that promotes British culture, its important that we have representation in the carnival for something that can be developed over the years, you know. So that’s the whole idea and direction behind Joocie Thursday, it’s to give you a variety and all to good show but also still something very fresh.”

He went onto say, “I believe it’s important to have a home-grown concert that represents not only the diaspora but that represents you know, the home-grown talent. And I think I am well versed, in that in previous years I have done my concerts; I had Decade Concert, and I also had another concert before that, so I have been doing the concerts for the last two years before Covid. But I made the decision to shift it to during the Carnival weekend or the opening, I call it the opening ceremony to Notting Hill carnival, showcasing what we have here”.
Joocie Thursday is scheduled for Notting Hill Carnival Thursday, 25 August, at Subterania, 12 Acklam Rd, London W10 5QZ. Doors open at 7pm. For tickets and more information visit All The Tickets.
