Trinidadian soca star Nailah Blackman will officially launch the 2026 Trinidad & Tobago Carnival season with her flagship event Sokah Origins – Thank God It’s Carnival (T.G.I.C) on Sunday 4 January at Sound Forge in Port of Spain. The one‑night‑only concert promises to “ignite the season” and set the pace for Carnival festivities to come.
Blackman has established herself as one of soca’s leading voices, known for her energetic performances and creative output. She regularly headlines major Carnival events and continues to expand her artistic reach across stage and studio.
Sokah Origins has become a staple in the Carnival calendar. In this cultural showcase, soca lovers and Carnival fans gather to celebrate music, community and the spirit of Trinidad’s greatest festival. This year’s edition features performances by Nailah Blackman alongside a lineup of top local talent, including Lil Kerry, Patrice Roberts, Coutain, GBM Nutron, Skinny Fabulous, Lyrikal, Sekon Sta and Blaka Dan.

The event runs from 5 pm to midnight, and tickets are available across multiple price tiers, making it one of the first must‑attend fetes of the Carnival season.
