Pumpa (Dennis Liburd) has capped a busy 2025 with fresh releases and a public honour from the Virgin Islands Legislature in Christiansted, St. Croix. Lawmakers approved Bill No. 36-0058 dated Friday 28 March formally commending Liburd and providing for the presentation of the Official Key to the Territory and renaming the main entrance to 6-Y Peters Rest Road in Christiansted as Dennis Pumpa’ Liburd Drive.
Local reporting indicates that the Legislature’s action recognises Pumpa’s contributions to music and culture and includes funding for signage and an official ceremony.
On the music front, Pumpa has remained active. He released the single Bianca on Friday 14 March. He is also featured on Her Mudda, a high-profile collaboration with Machel Montano on the Her Mudda riddim that circulated during the 2025 carnival season.His latest release, Run Me My Money, is now out on various music platforms.
Pumpa’s catalogue includes earlier breakout material, such as The A List released Saturday 17 November 2022, a track that helped raise his regional profile and streaming footprint.
He has previously been recognised at the Caribbean Music Awards, winning an Impact/Caribbean Impact-type award at the ceremony in Brooklyn on Friday 30 August 2024.
