What to drink when you visit Dominica? Here are two refreshing options to try: passion fruit juice and Kubuli beer. Dominica is blessed with an abundance of passion fruit, and the juice not only tastes delicious but also carries many health benefits. On the other hand, Kubuli beer has an exquisite flavour that sets it apart from other Caribbean brews. Its distinctive taste comes from the natural spring water and careful brewing process, and many locals and visitors will tell you it’s a drink worth trying.
PASSION FRUIT JUICE (JUGO DE CHINOLA/MARACUYÁ)
Passion fruit, locally called Chinola, is the most popular fruit in Dominica. It has a tart flavour and is rich in vitamin C. Passion fruit juice is a favourite drink on the island. It is refreshing, slightly sour, and tasty. You can strain out the seeds for a smooth drink or leave them in for an extra-tasty flavour. It is quick to make and best served cold, accompanied by ice.
Passion fruit is also full of fibre, which helps with digestion, and antioxidants that support good health. A glass of this juice not only refreshes you but also provides a natural energy boost.

KUBULI BEER: THE NATIONAL BEER OF DOMINICA
Kubuli Beer is Dominica’s award-winning national beer, earning a gold medal at the Monde Sélection Quality Awards in 2019. Its name comes from “Waitukubuli” the Kalinago word for Dominica, meaning “tall is her body,” a reference to the island’s long shape.
Brewed at the Dominica Brewery with malted barley, hops, and 100% natural spring water from Loubiere, the beer is naturally filtered through volcanic rock. This light, pale lager is refreshing in tropical weather, with a mild sweetness and gentle bitterness that give it a distinctive flavour compared with other Caribbean beers.
Kubuli is mainly found in Dominica, with limited availability elsewhere, making it a unique example of Dominican brewing.
