Shurwayne Winchester, proud Tobagonian and soca star, is giving back to his homeland with a special event, Tobago Love, The Xperience, during Tobago’s October Carnival. Partnering with Foreign Bass Promotions and MVP, they created this food inclusive event to showcase Tobago’s unique hospitality and culture.
“This is not a hot sun event. We’re catering to the fetters. We want you comfortable, energized, fed and ready to party,” he said.
The singer, known for hits like Dead or Alive, sees the initiative as a way to reciprocate the support Tobago has given him throughout his life and career. He aims for both visitors and returning Tobagonians to reconnect with the island’s warmth and traditions. Drawing from his successful all-inclusive Carnival events in Arima, Trinidad, Winchester envisions “Tobago Love” as more than just a party, it’s a tourism and cultural showcase designed to attract and retain visitors.
Highlighting the island’s famed hospitality, Winchester promises guests will leave “with their belly full” and their hearts touched, ensuring they want to return. He plans to share not only music but also personal experiences and lessons from his family, giving visitors the real Shurwayne, beyond the stage persona.
“When they come to the event, they’re now seeing the face that they saw on stage, but in a different capacity. I’m going to show them what I learnt from my mom and my dad, my grandparents,” he announced.
Scheduled for Thursday 23 October, the event will run from 6 pm to 11 pm, offering guests comfort, energy, and authentic island vibes. By linking the event to Tobago’s Carnival, Winchester aims to raise the island’s profile on the international stage, warmly welcoming travelers and building connections that go beyond entertainment, making Tobago Love a true cultural and tourism highlight.
