A new docu-series, The Promoters, will premiere in early 2026. Directed by Jamal Hill (Brotherly Love, Deuces), it will be the first reality docu-series to highlight the people behind the scenes who globalised Caribbean and urban music. Four of the promoters attended the Caribbean Music Awards in New York City as part of their pre-release promotion.
The show features five prominent promoters: DJ Private Ryan (Ryan Alexander), Jay Upscale (Jermaine Magras), Platinum Kids (Hans Mullings and Desmond Gavin), and Top Tier Management Group (Hector Carter and Omar Stephenson), with all being executive producers of the series.
Top Tier Management Group said the series is “a testament to the sacrifices and victories of those who built something out of nothing.” The Promoters will give viewers a close-up look at how major events are created and the challenges that come with it, showing the hustle and determination of the people who built stages, brought communities together, and helped Caribbean music reach audiences around the world.
Jamal Hill said, “The business of large-scale concert event promoting is a world that has yet to be uncovered. I’m excited to bring this story to the forefront for the culture.”
Viewers will see behind-the-scenes planning, the realities of the industry, and the personal stories of the promoters themselves.
Producer Janelle Abraham, who has worked on the Caribbean Music Awards and is leading this project, believes the series is a way to recognise promoters who usually don’t get credit. She said the show will “honour the promoters as the unsung architects of culture while honouring their legacy and showing how much they shaped the culture we celebrate today.” She added that she hopes audiences gain a new respect for these promoters, as without them, Caribbean music would not exist in the same light today.
