The National Carnival Commission of Trinidad and Tobago (NCC), organisers of Trinidad Carnival 2023, have allotted money to the mas fraternity in Tobago for the planning and organising of their aspects of Carnival 2023, which follows the smaller island’s own inaugural carnival that took place in October.
The budget is TT $1.3 million, agreed upon after conversations with Culture Secretary Tashia Burris and her team in December 2022.
There is yet to be an official announcement for the format, but there will of course be the usual offerings of soca and calypso monarch competitions and J’Ouvert, alongside other activities.
