Formed in 1995, the British Association of Steelbands (BAS) is the UK’s leading authority on the steel pan instrument and is the UK’s only true national carnival arts organisation. Pan Clash Explosion is a steel pan competition for soloists and ensembles where talented youths from around the UK showcase their talent in arrangement, improvisation and composition. Although this is a youth event, the ensembles competition also includes an over 25’s category which promotes aspiration as well as giving inspiration to the younger players and arrangers.
