On 8 June, the semi-finalists for the 2026 Groovy & Power Soca Monarch Competition were confirmed following the quarter-final round. Eighty artists competed for a place, with 20 Groovy and 20 Power soca entries advancing after assessment by the adjudication panel.
The semi-finals will take place tomorrow Friday 26 June, from 6pm and are open to the public.
Among the Power soca qualifiers are Bronxx, Dhirv 2 Funny and Mata with Mad People, Ricky T with True Color, and Kisha Kay with Hot Already. Other advancing artists include Mica (Loud), Sly (Rage (Dewanje)), and Qpid (De Fete Mad).
In the Groovy category, returning names include Arthur Allain with Work On Pause, Danielle Du Bois with Dancing in the Rain, and MNR with Party Count. Also progressing are Shemmy J (Everything), Siah (Cho), and Twahzzy with Stop It Stacy.
