On Monday 22 June, the quarter-final round of the Saint Lucia Calypso Monarch Competition took place, resulting in 18 calypsonians advancing to the semi-finals.
The next stage is scheduled for Sunday 28 June at the National Cultural Centre from 4pm. At this stage, nine performers will be selected to move on to the finals. Tickets are priced at EC $40 (£11) in advance and EC $60 (£17) at the gate.
Among the qualifiers are Anwar, Blaze and TC Brown from the Kaiso Pros Tent, alongside Ready, Snow and Walleigh representing Fire One. Artists from the TOT/Soca Village include Ashe, Carlton Roberts, Herb Black and Mica, while Lushanne, Menell and Gumtion represent the South Calypso Tent.
