The CultureMix Steel Band Festival

The CultureMix Steel Band Festival returns for a third year at The Hexagon Theatre with an even bigger and better showcase of music, dance and song performed by 300 gifted and talented school children from Berkshire UK.

With guests performances Slough’s children’s reggae band The Mighty Melody Invaders and from Reading’s own award winning steel band RASPO – Reading All Steel Percussion Orchestra this is an concert not to be missed.

The event features steel bands from eight primary school steel bands who will join together for an exciting ensemble concert.  Theale Primary School choir and Calcot Junior School choir will join the CultureMix Schools Steel Percussion Orchestra for a rousing finale of ‘Let’s Play Steel Pan’, a new and original composition written by CultureMix especially for choir and steel percussion orchestra.

Participating schools are Calcot Junior School, Geoffrey Field Junior School, Lambourn Primary School, Oxford Road Community School Reading, Stockcross Primary School, Theale CE Primary School, Welford and Wickham CE Primary School, and Western House Academy Slough.
