Christmas Spirit at Cummin Up Lewisham

Once again Cummin Up Caribbean restaurant in Lewisham will be providing free meals for the less fortunate on Christmas Day. Owner Richard Simpson told Soca News that they started providing this service 12 years ago to help people under pressure and they have been providing approximately 150 free meals each year. Cummin Up was established in June 1991 and now have branches in New Cross, Catford and Brighton, in addition to their Lewisham site at 389 Lewisham High St, London SE13 6NZ.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, this year’s offering will be in the form of a takeaway service, rather than the usual sit-down meal. The meals will be available to pick up from 1pm to 6pm on Christmas Day and menu options will include traditional roast turkey, roast potatoes and Brussel sprouts, as well as jerk chicken and rice and peas.
