It’s another exciting year on the Saint Lucia Carnival calendar. Last weekend saw the staging of the Miss Carnival Queen Pageant, which ended in an unprecedented tie for first place between Miss Bank of Saint Lucia, Nyaley Lewis and Miss Saint Lucia Tourism Authority, Faith Edward.
This weekend promises even more excitement as Saint Lucia hosts four major Carnival competitions across four consecutive days, building momentum towards the much-anticipated Carnival Monday and Tuesday street parades.
For those unable to make the trip to Saint Lucia this year – or those still making their way to the island – there will still be plenty of opportunities to enjoy the action. In previous years, the events have been streamed live free of charge via the Lucian Carnival YouTube channel, and organisers are expected to continue that tradition this year.
Viewers in the UK should remember that Saint Lucia is five hours behind British Summer Time, so be sure to stock up on your Bounty, settle in and get ready for a weekend of top-class Carnival competition.
