Carnival in Saint Lucia is getting a grassroots boost with the launch of ‘Do Road’, a new initiative from the Carnival Planning and Management Committee (CPMC).
Built around the idea of liming and celebrating together, ‘Do Road’ takes the energy of Lucian Carnival beyond its usual hubs and into communities across the island. The series kicked off at Gros Islet’s Friday Night Street Party, where a strong crowd enjoyed performances from Sedale, Nerdy, Umpa, Ricky T and Hollywood HP.
The concept doesn’t stay in one place. Upcoming stops include Dennery, Vieux Fort, Soufrière, Mon Repos and Odsan, with each location expected to showcase its own blend of music, culture and community spirit, supported by local carnival bands and organisers.

By spreading events islandwide, the initiative creates more opportunities for communities and small businesses to benefit from the season while keeping the authentic, people-driven feel of carnival alive.
If early reactions are anything to go by, ‘Do Road’ could be one of the defining features of this year’s build-up.
