On Sunday 27 October the first Black British Theatre Awards (BBTA) will take place in Islington, London, at a venue yet to be announced. The awards aim to recognise and celebrate the contributions of Black people in the arts.
Out of hundreds of nominees, only a few could be selected; you can view the shortlist at www.blackbritishtheatreawards.com/vote. Those up for an award include Sharon D Clarke, Lenny Henry and Arinzé Kene.
