Melissa Simon Hartman has been appointed official costume designer for the Royal Shakespeare Theatre’s production of William Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing. The romantic comedy returns to the stage in spring 2022.
Hartman has an impressive body of work as a designer. She has worked with Beyoncè and on costume designs for Notting Hill Carnival. Her pieces were featured in Love (Sweet Love), a recent music video by the UK girl band Little Mix.
Much Ado About Nothing is directed by black director Roy Alexander Weise, with Michael Balogun and Akiya Henry playing lead roles as Benedick and Beatrice.
