Skinny Banton set for Preston Caribbean Carnival appearance

Grenadian soca star Skinny Banton (Shirlan George) is set to appear at this year’s Preston Caribbean Carnival, bringing his high-energy performance style to the annual celebration.

Born in Trinidad and Tobago and raised in Carriacou, Skinny Banton has built a strong reputation across the Caribbean and the diaspora. He began performing at school and community events before rising to prominence with hits including Jab BehaviourAye and Soak It, and later gained wider recognition with Wrong Again in 2019.

Over the years, he has secured major titles in Grenada, including Soca Monarch and Road March, cementing his status as one of the island’s leading artists.

Preston Caribbean Carnival 2026 takes place on Sunday 24 May, with activities running from 2pm to 8pm. The main parade will make its way through the streets before culminating at Moor Park, where revellers can expect a vibrant showcase of music, culture and live performances.
