On Saturday 14 June, the Budweiser Stage in Toronto welcomed its first-ever soca artist, Kes The Band.
Led by frontman Kees Dieffenthaller, Kes The Band made Canadian history by becoming the first soca artist to headline and perform at the Budweiser Stage, drawing an electrifying crowd of 14,000 fans. It was more than just a concert; it was a landmark celebration of Caribbean culture and the global rise of soca.
Kes was joined on stage by Jamaica’s own Tessanne Chin, chutney star Ravi B, Teddyson John, Yung Bredda, Voice, and soca legend David Rudder. The show featured artists who have significantly impacted the culture.
This year, Kes The Band celebrates a milestone of 20 years in the business, and we are sure there is much more to come.
