Released Date

Barking and Dagenham Carnival returns on Saturday 11 July 2026, from 1.00 pm to 6.30 pm at Barking Park, Longbridge Road, Barking, Essex, IG11 8TA, promising a vibrant celebration of culture, creativity and community.

This year’s theme, Birds of Paradise, was selected by local young people and adult participants. Inspired by colour, movement and self-expression, it highlights creativity, wellbeing and cultural pride across the borough.

Rooted in Caribbean carnival traditions, the event also reflects the area’s rich diversity, incorporating British, European and African influences. Set within the open green space of Barking Park, this year’s layout offers more room for performances, family activities and picnicking.
