My Trini Shop, the UK’s first online Trinidadian grocery store, is celebrating its fifth anniversary this month, while also marking a significant milestone with the opening of its first physical shop in Romford, East London.
The company shared on Instagram that it has turned five years old, commemorating “an incredible journey of bringing Trinidad and Tobago flavours to the UK”. The celebratory post acknowledged its loyal customer base and underscored its commitment to serving authentic Trinbagonian ingredients and products.
On Saturday 12 April, My Trini Shop officially opened its bricks-and-mortar location at Ground Floor, 5–6 Quadrant Arcade, Romford, RM1 3ED. The launch was marked with a community-focused event that offered product sampling and demonstrations of beloved Trini staples.
Since opening the shop, My Trini Shop has maintained a strong presence both in-store and online, offering a wide range of Trinidadian groceries — from spices such as chadon beni and pimento, to sweet treats and savoury items imported from the islands. The physical location complements its e-commerce platform, providing local customers with direct access to items that were previously only available online or shipped from abroad.
