Mikey Mercer claims Sweet and Soca Monarch crowns at Banks Party Monarch

Mikey Mercer captured both the Sweet Soca Monarch and Power Soca Monarch crowns at the 2026 Banks Party Monarch Finals, held at the National Botanical Gardens on Sunday 12 July.

Mercer performed Real Feters in the Sweet Soca Monarch competition and Like Ah Bajan in the Power Soca Monarch contest. His double victory earned him a combined prize of BDS$200,000 (£74,600).

The wins completed a dominant night for the artist, who topped both categories at one of the highlights of Barbados’ Crop Over Festival.
