Guyana Day - Diamond Jubilee Of Independence Family Sports & Fun Day 2026

The Guyana Family Sports & Fun Day is an annual event celebrating the anniversary of the Republic of Guyana’s independence. 2026 marks the 60th Anniversary – Diamond Jubilee of Independence – of this Commonwealth/Caricom country. The inspiration behind this event is to bring together the diverse communities from across the UK Guyanese diaspora and to celebrate our rich cultural heritage as one people.

The day includes popular sporting activities such as lime & spoon, sack races, piggyback races, and sprints. The activities also include a mini football tournament, a dominoes tournament, traditional Guyanese games, face painting, a bouncy castle, and food, drink, and craft stalls.
