The Saint Lucia Carnival Planning & Management Committee (CPMC), in partnership with the Carnival Music Management Committee (CMMC), has announced that the deadline to submit applications for the 2025 National Groovy and Power Soca Monarch Competitions is midnight on Friday 23 May.
As the season gains momentum, several Saint Lucian artists have already dropped fresh tracks in Groovy Soca, Power Soca, and Dennery Segment, generating buzz online and across local radio. These early releases highlight the island’s dynamic creativity and musical flair. Fans can listen to the latest music via the official Lucian Carnival YouTube channel.
Artists interested in participating in either the Groovy or Power Soca Monarch segment, or both, must complete an online application. Each submission must include a recent photo, the competition song, and a backup version in WAV or MP3 format. The registration form is available at carnivalsaintlucia.com/application-forms.
Groovy Soca entries must not exceed a tempo of 130 beats per minute (bpm), whilst Power Soca submissions must exceed 130bpm. Artists must ensure their songs are correctly classified to qualify.
Submissions will first undergo a preselection phase, after which shortlisted artists will proceed to the Quarter-Finals on Saturday, 7 June, and Sunday, 8 June.
The CMMC encourages all eligible performers to apply; guidelines and details are on the Saint Lucia Carnival website.
Saint Lucia Carnival is scheduled to be held from Monday 21 – Tuesday 22 July 2025 – More Info.
