The Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. (BTMI) has launched a new podcast series titled “We Gatherin’ 2025: Home Drums,” which celebrates the stories of the Barbadian diaspora and their journeys back home.
This podcast explores themes of identity, heritage, and connection, featuring interviews with artists, athletes, entrepreneurs, and everyday Barbadians who have either returned to the island or maintained strong ties from abroad. Each episode showcases personal reflections and cultural experiences, aiming to strengthen the bond between Barbados and its global community.
The debut episode, “From Brooklyn to Bridgetown: Marcus Callender’s Bajan Roots,” follows Brooklyn-born actor Marcus Callender as he reconnects with his roots. Hosted by local media personality Chrissy D, this episode delves into Callender’s rediscovery journey on the island.
Home Drums is part of We Gatherin’ 2025, a national initiative encouraging Barbadians to return and reconnect with their heritage. The podcast serves as an essential platform for sharing authentic voices and preserving cultural identity.
“This podcast offers a powerful way to showcase the influence Barbados continues to have on generations of Bajans worldwide,” said BTMI CEO Andrea Franklin.
