What does Notting Hill Carnival mean to you? How does it make you feel?
Organiser NHCL wants you to ask yourself those questions – and then turn the answer into a stunning T-shirt design, which could be seen by millions of people.
You have until Monday 1 July to come up with artwork for the back of a standard white short-sleeved T-shirt (the carnival’s official logo will be on the front).
So don’t hold back. Let the world know why Carnival holds a piece of your heart ‑ or any other part of your body!
If your logo design is selected, it will be seen on the backs of thousands of carnival-goers over the August bank holiday weekend. Sorry, there’s no cash prize, but any profits made from sale of the T-shirts will fund a prize for the Best Children’s Mas Band of 2019. That’s definitely a cause worth supporting.
If you want to take part, just download the free Notting Hill Carnival mobile app for iOS or Android. Then upload an image of your artwork along with a short description of what your logo design represents.
To enter you must be a UK resident over 16 years old. You can only submit one design, which must be your own work. And don’t forget that deadline ‑ 11.59 pm on 1 July.

Even if you don’t enter the competition, you’ll still want to download the Notting Hill Carnival app. It’s your key to navigating the joyous but often baffling chaos of Carnival. The app features two maps, one pinpointing the stages, sound systems, toilets and first-aid points, while the other tracks every mas and steel band around the circuit.
Plus you can use the app to vote for your favourite steelband at Panorama (though we hope it will be for this year’s competition, not 2010’s as listed on the official website!).
