Imran Nerdy

Imran Nerdy: Is ready to Start D Party

|

Released Date

In his earlier years, not many knew his voice. Even fewer knew his name, Imran Nerdy.

In 2015, he competed at the Groovy Soca Monarch competition with the song In D Mang. He was unsuccessful that year, so he teamed up with soca artist Shemmy J. Together, they released hits like Cherry Cassava and Bouncing, which secured them a second-place title at the 2017 Groovy Soca Monarch competition. After this high, Nerdy took a hiatus to perfect his craft. He worked with heavy-hitting producer Miguel Joseph of Vibez Productionz, and in 2023, his hard work and dedication paid off.

Nerdy debuted the song Unemployed, which earned him some traction and third place in the Groovy Monarch Competition that year. However, his massive hit Clock Out would redirect his career and gain him Power Monarch and Road March titles that season. Clock Out’s success presented many opportunities, including performances in Martinique, Canada, and America, to name a few. Famous Canadian Youtuber and talk show host Lilly Singh featured Clock Out on one of her TicTok videos, and she wrapped up the filming for her talk show.

The following year, although he could not retain his title, Nerdy did not disappoint his fans and supporters. He was still able to create pulsating rhythms, including Unfold it, Destruction, Rental, Money, which also secured his third runner-up title in the Groovy Soca Monarch competition, and Start D Party, with which he was also third runner-up at the Power Soca Monarch and second Place Road March.

When asked how he feels about his career and what he’s accomplished thus far, Nerdy said, “It has been an experience that I never saw coming so soon. To this day, I still can’t believe it because every time you hit the stage and hear people singing your music. I dreamt of it, but seeing it unfold is totally different. To see the joy on the fan’s faces while you sing, there are no words to describe”

Although the 2025 Carnival Season is still far out, Nerdy has begun to build his music library and promises that fans won’t be disappointed.

He is headed to London, where he will perform at Unity of UK St Lucian’s 46th Independence Celebration dance at the Stratford Town Hall on Saturday 22 February.
