After a five-year hiatus, music lovers will be excited to find the Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival reappearing in their 2021 calendar. With the theme ‘Bring back the Magic’, the festival is scheduled to take place from Thursday 4 to Saturday 6 March.
Since the inaugural event in 1996, Jamaica Jazz has hosted over 400 local and international acts including huge stars Celine Dione, Diana Ross, Michael Bolton, Lionel Richie, Kenny Rogers, Maroon 5, and many more.
This year’s virtual festival is presented by Steady Image Media Group & Entertainment, who will use donations to support those in the entertainment industry whose sources of livelihood have been badly affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
Some of the confirmed acts for the 2021 three night festival are John Secada, Richie Stephens, Jah9, Sevana, Tessellated and Lila Ikè. Pre-festival activities will include a band search, with winners taking the stage during one segment of the event.
Saint Lucian soca artist Teddyson John and the Teddyson John Project are also set to perform on Saturday 6 March at 7.30pm. (11.30pm GMT)
