After a successful first year, Melé Destinations, organiser of both Melé Cruise and Melé Destination, has scrapped the former from their 2023 calendar. The cruise was initially scheduled for 27 April until 1 May 2023, leaving from Miami, Florida.
The organisers issued a communiqué on their website indicating that, despite their desire to hold both events in 2023, they have taken the difficult but necessary step of cancelling the cruise. They said, “We’ve made the difficult decision not to set sail in April, and sadly there will be no Melé Cruise in 2023. Cancun Carnival will be the only Melé Destinations event for 2023.
“We know this may be as disappointing to many as it is for us, because we’ve always wanted to cruise with our Melé Crew. But, if it’s 1 thing you should know about this Melé team, it’s that we listen to our Melé Crew, and they have spoken. Cruising in large numbers still feels unsafe to many of you, and your comfort is priority.”
All cruisers who pre-booked Melé Cruise have a preferred opportunity to be first to book for Cancun Carnival, or else receive a refund if they are unable to join Destination Cancun this year.
Melé Destination 2023 is scheduled to take place from 7 September to 11 September at the Moon Palace Resort in Cancun. Bookings are currently available via Melé Destination.
