Trinidadian soca star Nailah Blackman is set to release her sophomore album, Born A Diamond (B.A.D.), in the second half of 2025 under Big Money Records. The album follows her 2022 debut album, Teknique.
The album will feature an impressive lineup of collaborations, including Shenseea, Nicky Jam, Sadboi, and Nigerian DJ Obi, with whom Nailah previously teamed up on the afro-soca track Miss Continental.
As a preview, Blackman has dropped the lead single, Feels Like Love, featuring OVO Sound’s Roy Woods. Produced by Jakey Krumm and Hunter Tomeo, the track blends R&B, pop, and dancehall influences.
The announcement comes after a successful Trinidad & Tobago Carnival season, where she performed extensively and hosted the sixth edition of her Sokah Origins concert. With her deep musical roots of being the granddaughter of soca pioneer Lord Shorty, Nailah describes her journey as the process of a diamond forming over time.
In addition to the album rollout, Nailah has a busy performance schedule ahead. This spring, she will headline the Saturday Night Live concert series at the Howard Theatre in Washington, D.C., on Saturday 12 April and make her debut at Philadelphia’s Roots Picnic festival from Saturday 31 May to Sunday 1 June, sharing the stage with All Spice World Dance. Her tour will also take her to Jamaica, New York, Toronto, and Las Vegas.
Feels Like Love is available to stream or download on Deezer, Spotify, YouTube and other major streaming platforms.
