New CEO for Grenada Tourism Authority

After a long-standing career in tourism, Petra Roach, a known veteran in the Tourism industry, has become the new CEO of the Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA), succeeding longtime CEO Patricia Maher in the role. Prior to taking on this new role, Roach served in Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc for 27 years. She was global head of markets and subsequently became the interim CEO.

The GTA Board of Directors said that Roach will spearhead the goal of recovering post-pandemic, emphasising on “innovative and competitive marketing campaigns.” They believe this initiative is a game-changing experience for Grenadian tourism. The board also recognised that a central requirement for this role is international marketing expertise and maintaining powerful relationships and contacts within the tourism and airline industries.

Roach has enjoyed a successful career in Caribbean tourism, both locally and internationally. Speaking on her new role, she said “I feel honored to lead the team as GTA’s new CEO, and to be tasked with pushing forward GTA’s success during these challenging, but equally exciting times. I also look forward to working with all of the industry stakeholders, as we collectively chart a dynamic upward course for the destination.”
