Renowned international music residency and exchange program, OneBeat, is excited to announce an expansion of its offerings, inviting musicians aged 19 to 35 from 54 countries and territories worldwide to participate in its 2024 programs.
Sponsored by the U.S. State Department’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, and produced by Bang on a Can’s Found Sound Nation, OneBeat offers a unique opportunity for musicians to collaborate, create original music, and engage in arts-based social initiatives.
For over a decade, OneBeat has brought musicians from diverse backgrounds to the United States in autumn for a month-long residency. During this time, participants work collectively to compose, produce, and perform music that reflects their unique cultural influences. Beyond music, the program encourages fellows to develop strategies for arts-based social engagement.
This expansion aims to foster even more international collaboration and creativity, bridging cultural divides through the universal language of music. Musicians interested in this remarkable opportunity to be part of this global musical experience can apply for the 2024 programs. The application period remains open until Friday 15 September.
OneBeat will now host two annual residencies, with a total of 50 talented musicians accepted as OneBeat Fellows. The first in 2024, OneBeat 13, will take place from April to May, and will be followed by OneBeat 14 from September to October, 2024.
