On Saturday 22 June, the Carnival Planning and Management Committee (CPMC) hosted the semi-final rounds of the National Groovy and Power Soca Monarch competition.
The first round of competition featured twenty Groovy Soca semifinalists who hoped to capture a spot to compete against reigning Groovy King Arthur. In the end, nine artists advanced to the finals.
The show’s second half was about Power Soca, in which another twenty artists blazed the stage, hoping to advance to the competition’s finals. The final nine were chosen and will compete against Power Soca and Road March King Imran Nerdy. The Groovy & Power Soca Monarch finals are scheduled for Friday 5 July at The Sab, Vigie.
