Trinidadian soca power couple Bunji Garlin and Fay-Ann Lyons have officially joined Mondé Mas as co-owners. The new mas band will make its debut at Barbados’ Crop Over 2026. Founded and led by veteran Barbadian marketer Corey Garrett, Mondé Mas was officially launched on 23 March 2026, at the Wyndham Grand Barbados.
The Mondé Mas executive team features Corey Garrett, Barbadian finance executive Craig Hinds, and Trinidad & Tobago entertainment investor David Blanc. The band’s debut theme, ‘A Dance With Dragons’, draws inspiration from Ichirouganaim, the indigenous name for Barbados.
For 2026, Mondé Mas will present five sections, each representing a unique island location:
- Regalia (Bridgetown)
- Solaris (Speightstown)
- Luxora (Holetown)
- Thalassa (Oistins)
- Muma (Chalky Mount)
Lyons described the venture as an opportunity to unite Caribbean nations through culture. Garlin, a seasoned regional carnival performer, shared that 2026 will mark his first time participating in Grand Kadooment. The festival is set for July 3 to 4 August 2026.
