Calypso lovers are set for an evening of classic performances when the Superior Vintage Calypso Brigade stages Emancipation V 2026 at the Central Bank Auditorium in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, on Sunday 26 July.
The show, which begins at 6.00pm, will feature a strong line-up of veteran and popular calypsonians, including Abebele, Calypso Kerr, Doppy, Rio, Brother Valentino, David Bereaux, Lady Adana, Seraphim, Luta, Mudaada, Chuck Gordon and Poser.
Musical accompaniment will be provided by the Reflections Brass Orchestra, promising a live showcase of traditional calypso in a concert setting.
Hosted by Sharon Pitt and Short Pants, the event is being presented by Sanch. Organisers are positioning the production as a celebration of calypso heritage during the Emancipation season, bringing together a collection of respected performers from across the genre.
In addition to the live audience experience, the concert will be available worldwide via a pay-per-view livestream on Eventbrite. International viewers can purchase virtual access for US$10, with the stream scheduled to begin at 11.00pm BST on Sunday 26 July, allowing calypso fans across the diaspora to enjoy the event from anywhere in the world.
