Triniboi Joocie (Rodell Sorzano) – a former Soca News UK Soca Monarch – has made it through to the Callbacks Round of the Voice UK competition, singing an original composition, Bottle Over Head.
As he performed his 2020 soca hit to coaches Sir Tom Jones and Olly Murs, it was Anne-Marie who was first to turn, closely followed by will.i.am.
There are four rounds to the competition: Blind Auditions, Callbacks Round, Knockouts and the Live Performance Shows. Triniboi is now through to the Callbacks Round and will be mentored by Anne-Marie.
We caught up with Triniboi and asked how did he feel about making it through to the Callbacks Round and having Anne-Marie as his coach, to which he replied “Right now I feel amazing, I feel humbled, I feel overwhelmed by the international support that I have received since featuring on the show. I’m excited to work with Anne-Marie, and I know what I have in store to come is going to be amazing, I am glad that the representation was there.”
He ended with ” I am glad that, I am elated to represent soca music so I look forward to what we have in store, and I hope that the community can stay engaged, keep engaged with the show to stay tune to what’s about to unfold”.
