Released Date

Soca sensation Nailah Blackman is set to headline the return of Saturday Night LIVE! on Saturday 12 April at the historic Howard Theatre in Washington, D.C. The concert marks her first-ever headlining performance in the United States, supported by the Eclipse International Band.

Fresh from Trinidad Carnival, Nailah will bring her signature energy and flair to the U.S. capital. “I’ve been coming to Washington, D.C. to perform since the beginning of my career, so it’s exciting to finally be able to give audiences a taste of my full-band live performance, as they might see me perform at my festival, Sokah Origins,” she said.

The DC Carnival and CultureFest DMV’s Saturday Night LIVE! Concert series, which has not been held for the past seven years, has previously featured Caribbean powerhouses such as Kes and Machel Montano. Event organiser Arthur Griffith says the revived series is set to become D.C.’s leading platform for Caribbean music, including soca, reggae, and afro beats.

Nailah will arrive in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday 8 April. She is scheduled to visit prominent landmarks, engage with students at Howard University, stop by the Trinidad & Tobago Embassy, and appear on WUSA 9’s Great Day Washington and headline DC.

This performance follows the announcement of her upcoming sophomore albumBorn A  Diamond (B.A.D), which will be released this summer under Big Money Records. The project features collaborations with Shenseea, Nicky Jam, and others.

Nailah’s tour continues across the Caribbean and North America, including a debut at the Roots Picnic in Philadelphia. Tickets for the Saturday 12 April concert, priced between $40 and $65, are available at dccarnival.com and culturefestdmv.com.
