Award-winning telecommunications service provider, Digicel, has built a mini stage at Queen’s Park Savannah, Port of Spain to host its Together as One Concert tonight Sunday 14 February. The miniature version of the Carnival stage will be used as an outdoor studio.
The National Carnival Commission (NCC) granted Digicel permission to use the stage; Together as One is one of the company’s series of scheduled virtual events.
The head of public relations for Digicel TT, Colin Greaves, explained that this is part of their creative efforts to keep the carnival spirit alive and to keep the creative industries going, despite the current global situations. He said, “We are helping to cure the Carnival tabanca that exists. So we’d be having no Carnival 2021 and, of course, still looking for opportunities to create employment for the various artistes, dancers and Carnival stakeholders”.
