Twenty Groovy and Power Soca songs have qualified to advance in each category to the Soca Semifinals, the third stage of this year’s Groovy and Power Soca Monarch Competition.
To qualify for the next round of the competition, artists had to perform their submissions live before a panel of judges on Saturday 8 June and Sunday 9 June. This stage was crucial in narrowing down the talent pool for the semi-finals.
The competition starts at 6pm this Saturday 22 June, at the National Cultural Centre Grounds. Tickets are EC$20 and can be purchased at The Cell outlets island-wide and Steve’s Barbershop in Castries. The final is scheduled for Friday 5 July, at the SAB. It will feature Imran Nerdy defending his title as Power Soca Monarch and Arthur Allain as Groovy Soca Monarch.
